Online Therapy in Clarksville, TN
Therapy for Anxiety, Grief, & Religious Trauma
Customized for Your Schedule
& Your Nervous System
Why consider online therapy?
Online therapy can actually be the best use of your time, energy, and money in the greater Clarksville area.
Here are the main reasons people enjoy and may even prefer online therapy:
more flexibility for scheduling due to no drive time
you get to have more options to choose the BEST therapist for you - someone who aligns with your values and has a personality compatible with yours, even if you live in a rural area
faster, more effective progress if there’s a specific behavior or experience we’re trying to work on related to your home environment
increased confidentiality and privacy for you since you don’t have to walk through a lobby or waiting area
being able to talk about scary or overwhelming things while in the comfort and familiarity of your home, where you can have blankets and pets and fidget toys nearby - this can be a game-changer if you’re neurodivergent and/or disabled
save money on child or elder care since you can be at home during your session
more privacy and objectivity if you are a therapist/mental health provider yourself, or the partner/close friend/parent/child of a therapist, because in any town somehow most of the mental health providers know each other
more privacy and objectivity if your name or family is generally well-known in the Clarksville area

I’m Karen!
I provide online therapy for anxiety, grief, & religious trauma for folks in the Clarksville area. Therapy with me is LGBTQ+ and neurodivergence-affirming.
My Specializations
Anxiety & Stress Management
Anxiety and stress are more common than people realize. We’ll explore possible contributing factors, what is currently working, and what isn’t. We’ll add new coping skills to your toolbox and experiment until we find what is most helpful. We will use a trauma-informed and neurodivergence-affirming lens as we work WITH your brain and nervous system rather than against them.
Grief & Life Changes
If you’ve been feeling sad, angry, and/or tired a lot, it could be grief. Grief is not just limited to the death of a loved one. It can show up in many forms, including as overwhelm about multiple life changes happening at the same time or connected to an experience of religious deconstruction. Whatever you’ve been through, whatever you’ve been missing, and no matter how long it’s been, therapy with me is a safe space to cry, rage, and shout into the void together.
Religious Trauma & Spiritual Abuse
An estimated 33% of the U.S. population has experienced spiritual abuse and/or religious trauma. These kinds of experiences can disconnect us from community, make our “inner critics” extra loud and cruel, and keep us stuck for years after we have left the space where we were being hurt. I have specialized training in treating both complex and religious trauma, to help survivors find a safe way forward.
Is online therapy effective?
Telehealth counseling has actually been around since the 1960s via phone, and since the 1990s via computer! Studies and meta-analyses have shown it can be just as effective as in-person therapy for treating anxiety, depression, and PTSD, among other concerns. For some folks, it can even be more effective than in-person treatment.
Online therapy is NOT the right service for anyone experiencing active or ongoing suicidality, psychosis, mania, or any other severe crises. In these cases, please call 911, the suicide hotline at 988, or text the crisis text line at 741-741.
